| Tree Pruning and Removals |
Proper pruning can achieve the following goals without sacrificing the health of the tree:
Removals can be safely handled by our highly trained, insured professional staff. Our employees are trained to climb as well as use bucket trucks as needed. TOP |
| Stump Grinding | Our stump grinder can make short work of that ugly stump you need removed. The stump can be ground down anywhere from 6"- 24" below grade, either for reseeding to grass, to prevent resprouting, or in the case of the deeper depth to provide a place for a replacement tree. TOP |
| Cabling and Bracing |
Sometimes large or heavy limbs which appear healthy can in fact have weak attachments to the parent stem; the installation of cables or rods can often be a very cost effective way of greatly reducing the hazard potential of the tree without having to remove it. TOP |
| Mulching | Mulching is a great way to control weeds, conserve moisture and reduce nutrient competition. Woodchip mulch also looks great! We can deliver your mulch and you can apply it, or we can do it all. TOP |
| Emergency Work /Storm Damage |
Got a tree down in the latest wind storm to tear through the Finger Lakes? Or has a limb fallen onto your garage? We have the equipment and the manpower to get you squared away. TOP |
| Dormant Oil Spraying |
In keeping with our policy of using the least toxic approach to pest management, we highly recommend the use of horticultural oil. It is very effective for controlling the egg and immature stages of aphids, scales, mites and others that attack and weaken your plant. TOP |
| Shrub Rejuvenation |
Spring is a great time to rejuvenate overgrown shrubs. Proper pruning at this time of the year can greatly improve the health, vigor, and flowering of these overgrown plants. TOP |
| Deep root Feeding Spraying |
Deep root feeding of your trees and shrubs serves to aerate the soil, provide essential nutriants and enhance the overall health of your soil. We use slow release fertilizers formulated specifically for trees and shrubs, as well as adding beneficial mycorhizae, those little microorganisms that have been shown to be of great value in enhancing the soil environment around the roots of trees. TOP |
| "Least Toxic" Pest Management |
Our approach to pest management is to use those materials that are the most environmentally benign materials available to solve the problem. In many cases we can control pests by the use of "bio rational" materials. Examples include horticultural oil, insecticidal soaps and bacterial insecticides. We will use other materials for spot treatments. Our staff is trained and certified by the NYSDEC to do applications as needed. TOP |
| Consultations | John has done horticultural consulting for 20 years. Consultations may include overall evaluations and ID of plant material in a given site, recommendations for their care, hazard tree identification and recommendations, assessments of damage caused by automobiles or property trespass, and expert witness testimony involving any of the above. Consultations also may involve valuation of trees for real estate purposes. TOP |
