|John Friedeborn, owner and founder of Cascadilla Tree Care, has 30 years experience in the field of arboriculture, first on Long Island and later here in Ithaca. As a 1980 graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. in Horticulture, John fell in love with both the Finger Lakes Area and his future wife, Karen. He decided to settle here in Ithaca to raise his family and establish his own company, Cascadilla Tree Care, Inc., founded 1982.
|John is a fully insured arborist and a member of several professional and business organizations, including:
John personally oversees his entire business and is proud of maintaining a personal relationship with his clients over the years. His exceptionally high number of long term clients is a testament to customer satisfaction, to this personal attention to detail, and to his philosophy of putting the customers needs first.
- Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), formerly known as the National Arborists Association (NAA).
- International Society of Aboriculture (ISA).
- New York State Arborists ISA Chapter.
- Penn-Del ISA Chapter.
- Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce.
|Cascadilla Tree care is composed of a highly trained and very skilled crew. They are required to attend regular health and safety seminars and also professional development conferences to keep up to date on the latest tree care techniques. John has an exceptionally low turnover in his crews, because not only does he hire like-minded people who share his philosophy, he also provides them with a competitive wage and benefits.
|In these surrounding photos you see the crew at a recent winter site which involved the removal of the large tree seen behind the truck. Before each job begins, a review of all the possible safety issues is performed. The tree is carefully sectioned and lined down in a controlled and safe manner. (photos courtsey of V. Somma)|
